MAPC Day School is the Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool of Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church, founded in 1949 on the Upper East Side (921 Madison Ave, between 73rd and 74th). It serves children from 4 months through 5 years, from parent-child Mini Madison classes up through a Fours/Fives Pre-K, with an emergent, project-based, inquiry-driven curriculum and specialists in music and art. Facilities include a roof garden with city views, an art studio, music/movement room and indoor gym, steps from Central Park. It is one of only 12 free-standing NYSAIS-accredited preschools in New York State, admits by ISAAGNY application, offers need-based aid, and places graduates at a wide range of NYC independent ongoing schools.

Culture & Community
Reggio Emilia-inspired, inquiry-driven, emergent and project-based early childhood program. Holds a strong image of the child as a capable being with endless potential who should follow her interests; curriculum emphasizes questioning, critical thinking, experimentation, risk-taking, collaboration and reflection. Topics shift yearly based on children's demonstrated interests, with regular nature experiences in Central Park and extensive documentation (note-taking, photos, video, children's artifacts) shared with families.
