Regis High School is a tuition-free, all-scholarship Jesuit Catholic high school for boys on the Upper East Side (Carnegie Hill), founded in 1914. Admission is highly competitive and merit-based: only baptized Catholic 8th-grade boys with top grades and test scores may apply, sitting the Regis Scholarship Exam (HSPT), and every one of the roughly 145 admitted students each year receives a full four-year scholarship worth over $120,000. About 540 students follow a rigorous, all-honors college-preparatory curriculum grounded in the Ignatian ideal of forming 'Men for Others.' A commuter school drawing from across the metro area, Regis is accredited by the Middle States Association and is a member of NYSAIS and the Jesuit Schools Network.
