The Hewitt School is an independent K-12 all-girls school on Manhattan's Upper East Side, founded in 1920 and led by Head of School Dr. Jennifer Zaccara. Its program is built around four academic pillars—presence, empathy, research, and purpose—and research-informed pedagogy focused on how girls learn best, with a 6:1 student-to-faculty ratio and about 425 students. Facilities include a rooftop playdeck, gymnasium, and a professional theater, and students engage in robotics, athletics, arts, and student-led sustainability and leadership work. Roughly one-third of families receive need-based financial aid, and the school runs bus routes across Manhattan and to Brooklyn.
