The Town School is an independent, nonsectarian, coeducational school on the Upper East Side serving Nursery 3 through Grade 8, one of the oldest N-8 schools in Manhattan. Its progressive, Deweyan philosophy pairs inquiry- and project-based learning with a strong character framework (Self, Others, and Surroundings) and a low 6:1 student-teacher ratio. Rare among peer schools, roundtrip bus service is included in tuition. Graduates go on to a broad mix of top NYC independent, boarding, and specialized public high schools.
