The Ethical Culture campus is the Manhattan, Pre-K–through–5th Grade division of Ethical Culture Fieldston School, housed in a landmark 1904 building at 33 Central Park West. Founded by Felix Adler in 1878, it delivers a progressive, ethics-centered, experiential education to roughly 400 children, with weekly specials in art, music, Spanish, library, ethics, and physical education and a rooftop playground overlooking Central Park. Admission is via the ISAAGNY process, chiefly at Pre-K (age 4) and Kindergarten (age 5), with generous need-based financial aid. A single flat tuition applies across all grades, and 5th Graders continue within ECFS to Fieldston Middle School in the Bronx.

Founded in 1878 by Felix Adler as a free kindergarten of the New York Society for Ethical Culture, this is the Manhattan (Pre-K–5th Grade) division of Ethical Culture Fieldston School. It offers a progressive, experiential, ethics-centered education rooted in 'whole-child' pedagogy attending to intellectual, physical, emotional, and social growth. Ethics is woven through the interdisciplinary curriculum, and children learn through hands-on, project-based inquiry. Nonsectarian and humanistic in origin (the Ethical Culture movement), not religiously affiliated.
