West Side Montessori School's Multi-Age Program continues its AMS-accredited Montessori approach for children from the threes through kindergarten, on the Upper West Side. Mixed-age classrooms foster peer learning, concentration, and independence, with cultural studies, practical life, and an extended-care option until 6:00 PM. The school offers need-based aid to roughly a fifth of families. Its Montessori foundation prepares children for a smooth transition to ongoing schools.
