BASIS Independent Manhattan is an independent, nonsectarian, coeducational school offering a globally benchmarked, inquiry-based and content-rich academic program. The Lower School (PreK-Grade 5) at 795 Columbus Avenue emphasizes intellectual curiosity, subject-expert teaching and a rigorous liberal-arts-and-sciences curriculum, with Mandarin, STEM/engineering, and the arts introduced from the Early Learning Program. Part of the BASIS Independent network (Spring Education Group); the Upper School (Grades 6-12) is a separate campus in Chelsea, and students continue internally from the Lower School.
