The Brownstone School is a nonprofit, play-based independent preschool on the Upper West Side, welcoming children ages 2 through 5 since 1963. Housed in a landmarked West 80th Street building with a state-of-the-art backyard playground, it offers an emergent, developmentally-focused curriculum with weekly music, yoga and TADA! theater. An ISAAGNY member, it enrolls about 75 children, offers need-based aid to roughly 12% of families, and sends graduates to a broad range of NYC independent and Gifted & Talented public schools for Kindergarten.
