TriBeCa Community School (TCS) is a coed, Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool in Tribeca serving children ages 2 through 5 (2s, 3s and 4/5s), founded in 2006 and now marking its 20th year. Learning is child-centered and inquiry-based, with creativity front and center through Ateliers (art studios) and documented classroom investigations. TCS operates two nearby campuses - 22 Ericsson Place and 124 Hudson Street - and offers flexible morning, afternoon, extended-day and full-day schedules from 2 to 5 days a week. Graduates place into a broad mix of NYC independent, public, and Gifted & Talented programs, with 92% accepted to their first-choice school in 2025-2026.

Culture & Community

Educational approach
Progressive / Play Based

Child-centered, inquiry-based early childhood education inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach and grounded in constructivist / social-constructivist theory. Relationships and creativity are central; children learn through hands-on investigations, creative expression in Ateliers (art studios) guided by an Atelierista, and documentation of their learning. The curriculum honors each child's interests and natural curiosity while meeting developmental milestones.
