Kaplan Nursery School (KNS) is a Jewish, play-based preschool of Sutton Place Synagogue in Midtown East, founded in 2001 and serving roughly 65 children from age 1 year 11 months through Pre-K. Its emergent, developmentally-tailored curriculum integrates Jewish values, holidays and weekly Tkiya music, taught by head teachers who all hold graduate degrees in early childhood education. The school occupies the Sachs Family Educational Center with a large outdoor play deck, children's garden, indoor playroom and library. An ISAAGNY member, KNS sends graduates to a wide range of leading NYC independent schools and select gifted/public programs.
