The Beekman School is a small, independent, coeducational college-preparatory high school (grades 9-12, plus a Post-Graduate year) in Midtown East, founded in 1925. Describing itself as a 'micro-school' and a reinvention of the one-room schoolhouse, it enrolls roughly 60-80 students with an average class size of about seven and highly individualized, flexible schedules. Admission is rolling, with no standardized tests — the Head of School interviews each family personally. Roughly 98% of graduates go on to college, supported by an intensive one-on-one college placement program.
