Chelsea Day School is a progressive, play-based preschool founded in 1981 and located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of a building on 32nd Street at Fifth Avenue. Serving children from infancy (a Friday Infant & Parent class) through the Fours, its Reggio-inspired, emergent curriculum grows from each classroom community and emphasizes curiosity, kindness and the intrinsic pleasure of learning. Facilities include eight classrooms, a rooftop play space and garden, and a full kitchen for daily cooking. As an ISAAGNY member school, its graduates place into a broad range of leading NYC independent kindergartens as well as District 2 public and G&T programs.
