Kennedy International School Japanese Saturday School

Kennedy International School's Japanese Saturday School is a Saturday-only supplementary program in Midtown East that teaches Japanese language and culture to students from Pre-K 3 (age 4) through 9th grade following Japan's national (MEXT) curriculum. Classes run 8:40am to 2:00pm and cover listening, speaking, reading and writing, math, and traditional Japanese customs and events, with applicants needing a basic understanding of spoken Japanese. It is the Japanese division of the former Lyceum Kennedy (founded 1964), sharing a building at 225 East 43rd Street with the school's separate French-English bilingual day school. Admission is rolling, and enrichment classes such as karate, music and calligraphy round out the program.
